  1. Relationships in books seem better than real life ones.

    Books can gloss over or skip the “dull” parts of a relationship — the day to day getting along, making dinner, cleaning the dishes, etc. And the boys or girls always know how and when to say the right thing because it’s all plotted out by the author in advance and the author has the ability to edit it later.

    If I had an edit ability for the times when I’ve said something boneheaded…;)
