Top Ten Tuesday REWIND: Top Ten Favorite Covers

As always, Top Ten Tuesday meme is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is: Top Ten Tuesday REWIND — go back and do a topic you missed over the years or recently or a topic you really want to revisit.

I decided to go with an old topic of ‘Top Ten Favorite Covers’ because these covers are just gorgeous:

1.Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi

“I spent my life folded between the pages of books.
In the absence of human relationships I formed bonds with paper characters. I lived love and loss through stories threaded in history; I experienced adolescence by association. My world is one interwoven web of words, stringing limb to limb, bone to sinew, thoughts and images all together. I am a being comprised of letters, a character created by sentences, a figment of imagination formed through fiction.”
― Tahereh Mafi, Shatter Me

2. The Folio Society Book Covers

3. Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

“And so the lion fell in love with the lamb…” he murmured. I looked away, hiding my eyes as I thrilled to the word.
“What a stupid lamb,” I sighed.
“What a sick, masochistic lion.”
― Stephenie Meyer, Twilight

4. Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare (& Mortal Instruments)

“We are all the pieces of what we remember. We hold in ourselves the hopes and fears of those who love us. As long as there is love and memory, there is no true loss.”
― Cassandra Clare, City of Heavenly Fire

5. Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa

6. Faery Rebels by R J Anderson

“I found her lying naked on the lawn at midnight, can I keep her?”
― R.J. Anderson, Knife

7. Selection series by Kiera Cass

“Break my heart. Break it a thousand times if you like. It was only ever yours to break anyway.”
― Kiera Cass, The One

8. Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor

“Once upon a time, an angel and a devil fell in love.

It did not end well.”
― Laini Taylor, Daughter of Smoke & Bone

9. Hush, hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

10. Splintered by A.G. Howard

I kindly borrowed almost all pictures from the internet :) Sorry.

(Don’t) judge the book by its covers…

  1. Great list, My only problem with the covers for Hush, Hush series, is I hate the titles of those books. The titles imply a connection to symphony music but it was only briefly mentioned and never expanded on that the MC played the cello.

    1. I wouldn’t describe them all as best books I have ever read but covers are indeed fantastic!
I like the covers with eyes most. Monochrome group works well even if there are no colors.

  3. The Folio Society Book Covers look really amazing! I feel like that they could be framed as paintings in an art gallery and nobody would notice they’re book covers.

    1. I really like eyes too and it’s just lovely how all 3 books and 2 novellas have similar design. I haven’t yet read anything by Perkins :) Have seen covers though, they are indeed beautiful. Thanks for the link! :)

  5. I absolutely adore the Shatter Me trilogy, The Iron Fey series, and The Selection trilogy covers… They are just so gorgeous. I really love The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer (Michelle Hodkin), The Madman’s Daughter trilogy (Megan Shepherd), Abandon trilogy (Meg Cabot), Tiger’s Curse series (Colleen Houck) and The Goddess Test trilogy (Aimee Carter) covers, as well! All of them are just so beautiful! Great TTT! Love, love, love your topic!

    1. They’re just fantastic! All of that you mentioned have very lovely covers as well! Especially liked Tiger’s Curse series with those gorgeous tigers (and other (mythological) animals. Haven’t read them before so thank you! :D Added them all to my TBR list.

  7. Oh you’ve included Folio covers. Among the ones you’ve posted, I have To Kill a Mockingbird (the orange one), Anne of the Green Gables (the one with the little girl), The Once and Future King (the one between TKAM and the other book), and both the Austen novels (Emma and Pride&Prejudice). I also like the Folio Society because of the chance they give to artists. Many artists said they never thought they would become the first to illustrate such and such books. For instance, I remember an illustrator felt honored when Toni Morrisson approved of his works on Beloved. Besides they also regularly win awards for their illustrations. This is why I am never sad when I spend money their books. They’re the only ones doing higher quality illustrated books. I hope you get some someday – they ship worldwide! :P

Since I’ve started buying Folio books (with my saved money), I have no interest in hardbacks (they look cheap, yet they cost a lot!). For paperbacks, I prefer the Vintage classics with the red spine. Their covers are gorgeous! Picador also has some beautiful covers sometimes.

    1. It was you who introduced me to Folio Society books! Thank you! (Without you I would have been hmm less happier haha.) You own so many Folio books! Wonderful! They are very expensive, so I haven’t been able to afford them yet. I always feel like I should invest the money in my future and not in books… another problem is that there is no space! :D And I don’t want to put my loved ones somewhere on the floor.
