  1. Brilliant post! I’m feeling much better about my own idiosyncrasies. Love O’Connor’s “affection for domestic poultry” and Faulker’s quote. It reminded me of Hemingway’s “write drunk, edit sober”.

    1. Hahaha what are your own “idiosyncrasies” then? I’m curious :) I kind of get writing when drunk…makes words flow easier…

  3. Absolutely fascinating to read! I know about Jane Austen, and Conan Doyle, and a little bit about Hugo too. I once visited his house in Guersey, where he wrote Les Miserables ( or part of it at least). I recollect being told he was a bit reclusive but I don’t remember the detail.
